The labour charges for spraying pesticide in the areca-nut crop is Rs. 1000 to 1200 per 200 liters of spray. The innovator developed a remote-controlled engine-operated areca-nut/coconut tree climber along with a spraying attachment. The spraying attachment consists of a pump and nozzle with a pipe used to spray liquid pesticide on the areca-nut tree. This device can be controlled through a remote within a radius of 200m and needs two persons for installation. The machine will not only reduce the dependence on labours/workers but also prevent accidents.
