In nurseries, conventionally plastic bags are used to grow the plant saplings. Plastic bags are biodegradable and have nil porosity. After germination, the bag has to be torn off to facilitate root growth and in case the bag is not torn properly the plant gets damaged. Innovator has developed an eco-friendly pot by using cow dung and agricultural waste, which is completely biodegradable. The idea was to achieve the optimum combination of mixers of cow dung and other natural binders used to make it sturdy and resistant to pests. It also provides employment in rural areas, factors that make it sustainable and scalable.
