Adnan Shah from Jammu & Kashmir noticed the difficulty and risk involved in manually picking apples and cherries, which often caused fruit damage and physical strain. To solve this, he developed a manually operated apple and cherry picker device. The device uses a lever mechanism connected to a scissor cutter that snips the fruit stalk, allowing the fruit to fall safely into an attached pouch. It also features a rest handle for user comfort. This low-cost innovation increases efficiency in fruit harvesting, reduces physical effort, minimizes fruit damage, and ensures safer and more comfortable working conditions for farmers.
